In the aftermath of the 2021 unrest in South Africa, widely known as the Zuma riots, entire communities were left without access to basic food supplies as shops were looted and supply chains collapsed. In response, Christian Aid Relief mobilised rapidly, delivering large scale food support to some of the hardest hit areas, including communities around Ulundi. During a time of widespread uncertainty and need, we were able to stand alongside vulnerable families, ensuring that essential nutrition reached those who had been left without access to even the most basic necessities.
